Who runs this site
Icarus Recipes is an unofficial fan project run by one independent ICARUS player based in Iceland. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by RocketWerkz. ICARUS and all game content and data are © RocketWerkz Studio Limited. Item names and numbers are shown as facts about the game; everything else on the site (text, glyphs, tools and design) is our own.
If you represent RocketWerkz and want something changed or removed, get in touch and we will act promptly.
Data & methods
Where the numbers come from
Every item, recipe, station, talent and workshop entry is read automatically from the free ICARUS Dedicated Server (Steam app 2089300), which ships the same data tables the game itself uses. It is downloaded anonymously, with no Steam account, login or purchase. Nothing is typed in by hand and nothing is copied from other fan sites. We publish facts you need to plan (names, quantities, times, power and stats) and never redistribute game files.
Week numbers and versions
Week numbers are never counted or guessed. Each data snapshot carries the game's version string (today 3.0.30.158174), and we match it to the “Changelog” line of RocketWerkz's weekly Steam post: that post's number is the week. A hotfix belongs to the week it patches (“Week 243 hotfix”), and a build no post mentions yet is labelled by its build number until the post appears. Every page shows which week its data comes from; the current snapshot is Week 252, live on Steam since .
Update schedule and speed
An automated job checks Steam every six hours, and every hour during the usual release window (ICARUS updates land on Thursday evening or Friday morning, UTC). When a new server build appears it downloads it, extracts the tables, checks them (entity counts, broken references, schema) against the previous week and prepares a list of what changed. The refreshed data goes live once those checks pass and the change has been reviewed: usually the same day as the patch. If the checks fail, the site keeps the last good data and says which week it shows.
“Computed in-game”
A few mechanics are applied by the game's code rather than its data: some station speed bonuses, deep-mining drill and area bonuses, the power draw of a few stations, how talents stack, fuel burn, and the output of solar, wind and water generators over time. Where a number depends on one of these, we show the base value from the data and mark the rest as computed in-game. We never fill the gap with a guess.
Corrections and sources
A missing value is only filled in when it is backed by a citation: either a public source (address, the date we checked it and a short quote) or a test in the game itself (who, when and on which build). Each correction states the game versions it applies to and is flagged for review as soon as the underlying data changes.
Glyphs instead of game icons
The game's icons and art belong to RocketWerkz, and we have not been given permission to use them. So every item gets a glyph we drew ourselves: the shape comes from its category, the letters from its name and the color from its tech tier.
Patch notes
Patch notes are RocketWerkz's official Steam announcements, credited and linked to the original post. Next to them we list what actually changed in the data.
Spotted a wrong number?
A contact address for reporting wrong data is coming soon. Until then, the next weekly update often fixes numbers that changed in a patch.
Why ads?
Hosting, the domain and the automated weekly data pipeline cost money, and so does the time spent checking every patch. A few ads keep every page free, without accounts or paywalls.
- One network only: Google AdSense, with ad units we place by hand. Automatic ad placement (Auto ads) is switched off.
- At most three ads on a desktop page and two on a phone, plus an optional slim bar above the bottom navigation that you can close for the rest of your visit.
- Never above a page's title or its answer, and never inside the planner, the calculators, search, dialogs, recipe cards, tables or the “page not found” page.
- No pop-ups, pop-unders, full-screen or video-wall ads, no notification prompts and no autoplay sound. Each ad is labelled “Advertisement” in a plain box that never looks like game content, and its space is reserved so the page never jumps.
- Nothing on this site asks you to download a file or install an extension. Treat any ad that does as a scam and tell us: we can block advertisers and whole categories.
In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent before any personalised ads; elsewhere you can opt out. Details are in the privacy policy.
